Why watch The Woman in Cabin 10
Keira Knightley is gaslit on a luxury yacht, and the isolation is suffocating—this is Shutter Island meets The Woman in Cabin 10 (the book's claustrophobic paranoia translated to screen for the first time). She witnesses something terrible, reports it, and hits a wall of denial so complete that even the audience starts questioning what she saw. Knightley's performance cuts through the fog with raw desperation; you feel her sanity fracturing in real time.
The film moves with A24 precision—every frame of ocean and polished wood becomes a prison. Director builds dread through what's not shown, letting conversation and glances do the heavy lifting. At 95 minutes, it never wastes a beat; the pacing mirrors a thriller that knows exactly how to wind you tight and when to snap.
This is for anyone who loved the paranoia of Gone Girl or the locked-room pressure of Knives Out. You'll spend the runtime trying to solve it yourself, second-guessing every face on that boat, every word. The final act doesn't just answer questions—it reframes everything you thought you understood.
By the end, you'll be rewinding scenes in your head for days, desperate to catch what you missed the first time.

However, the lengthy exposition at the beginning is annoying. There is potential in slowly building up the situation and characters; but that wasn't done here: flat characters. Too many clichés. And clichés save time; that's their positive side. They don't…Show more
