Why watch You
Penn Badgley transforms into one of television's most unsettling protagonists—a stalker so articulate and magnetic that you'll find yourself complicit in his delusions. What makes You razor-sharp is how it weaponizes his internal monologue, turning predatory obsession into seductive narration that makes you question your own moral compass. This isn't a typical crime drama; it's a psychological thriller that implicates the viewer.
The pacing is relentless, unfolding like a prestige HBO limited series compressed into a binge-worthy Netflix tempo. Director Greg Berlanti crafts each episode with meticulous tension—every chance encounter, every social-media stalk, every act of escalating violence feels inevitable and horrifying. The New York City setting becomes a character itself, intimate and claustrophobic despite the sprawl.
You speaks directly to our surveillance-saturated moment, where privacy is fiction and attraction can curdle into something toxic. If you've watched Mindhunter or Killing Eve and craved something darker, more intimate, and genuinely unsettling, this is essential. The supporting cast—particularly Charlotte Ritchie as the object of obsession—grounds the nightmare in devastating human stakes.
You'll be thinking about the final twist for days, and the moral vertigo of rooting for a monster will haunt your next rewatch.

So far, so good with You. It has a Dexter feel. You find yourself rooting for Joe, despite his deeply troubling behavior. He is a great guy in some ways and a horrible criminal in others. Lots of modern day stalking going on using smartphones and computers plus just good ol' fashioned regular creeping around. It's disturbing, sexy and fun all rolled into one. Enjoy! 8/10 stars.

Very interesting TV show about relationship and obsession. Show is quite interesting and acting is decent. Really binged on it. Characters are also well developed.

I am writing this review because I don’t see any point to this show whatsoever, and everyone here seems to be gushing over it. I’ve made it through the entire first season and there are no redeeming qualities to speak of. None of the characters face even the tiniest of consequences for any of their severely implausible actions. The solution to every problem that arises is “well I will just murder them” which, in term…Show more
I'm just deducting one star because vomit in every single episode seems to be a thing, common, people snack and watch TV, no need to see vomit in every episode. Other than that, interesting though totally unrealistic show. And you end up feeling sorry for Joe/Will, it's not that he's having bad luck, rather no luck at all...
This is a pretty good thriller.
