Empire
Two worlds collide.
Big time drug dealer Victor Rosa is looking to get out of the game and sees his chance with a big deal with a new friend who happens to be a Wall St. stockbroker. Thinking this will be his chance to go out on top, Victor soon finds out that he's been double crossed and his last option is to get revenge.
Why watch Empire
John Leguizamo delivers a career-best turn as Victor Rosa, a cocaine kingpin caught between the streets and a seductive Wall Street escape route—think Scarface filtered through the moral ambiguity of Requiem for a Dream. The setup is deceptively simple: one last score with a stockbroker friend promises legitimacy and freedom. Then betrayal arrives like a knife in the dark, and Victor's descent into revenge becomes the film's true engine.
Director Frank Restrepo crafts a propulsive 99 minutes with the kinetic energy of early-2000s prestige crime cinema—all neon-soaked nightclubs, paranoia-drenched boardrooms, and violence that feels consequential rather than choreographed. Peter Sarsgaard's slick financier is the perfect foil, embodying the predatory logic that devours both Wall Street and the underworld without distinction.
This is for anyone who craved the moral clarity of Training Day but wanted it wrapped in the gritty, unglamorous texture of street-level hustling. Empire doesn't offer redemption or easy answers—it offers a man watching everything he built crumble and choosing fire over surrender.
You'll be thinking about that final act for days: the kind of ending that reframes everything that came before it.

I just didn't like the ending that's why I gave it a low rating. The movie was ok and kept me interested. A lot of drug use that makes them do stupid stuff.
